my cat has teary eyes every once and a while. Usually, its just dust or allergies. First I would rinse your kitties eyes with a eye wash solution that you can buy at a pharmacy. If it doesn't get better in a day then I would take him to the vet. He could have scratched his cornea. They will put a dye in his eyes that shows up under a black light. If his eye is scratched then he might need surgery depending on how bad the scratch is. I used to work in a vet clinic. Usually, its not a bad scratch and you end up going home with some eye ointment. Good luck!
