The mayor of our fair city may soon be on trial for
perjury. He had some policemen fired
because they were investigating a party that was supposed to have taken place
at the Mayors Residence. The problem was
that someone who was at that party was later found murdered. The Mayor did not want a scandal and tried
to put a cover-up in place. When two
policemen found out a few facts about what had gone on at the party, the Mayor
and his assistant, found ways to force these policemen off the force. The policemen sued, and during the trial, the
jury believed the policemen about why they were fired. The jury did not believe the Mayor or his
assistant. As it turns out, some text
messages fell into the hands of the lawyer who represented the policemen; and
he let the Major know that he could prove the Mayor lied. The jury found for the policemen and granted
them $10,000,000 in compensation. The
City wanted to fight the ruling, but the mayor pulled strings and had the fine
paid. Our city does not have that kind
of money. The text messages leaked and
now the Mayor and his assistant will be facing charges for all that they
did. Now to find a judge that is not a
close personal friend of the Mayor.
