YOU CAN DO IT!! You can buy one thing at a time. All it
takes is a little discipline. What you
might want to try doing, is to take the amount of money that you have to spend
each month, and withdraw that amount from the bank in cash. Put it in an envelope. Next, make a list of the items that you need
to purchase in that same time frame.
When you decide to make a purchase, look at your list of necessary
items, then decide if you should buy whatever it is, because when the cash is
gone, the spending stops. Putting in
place a spending plan, makes you think BEFORE YOU SPEND. It also keeps you from taking out that ATM
card, or worse, credit card, to make an impulse purchase. By the end of the month, even if the cash is
spent, you will not have deep debt, and if you did buy something, you did not
do it without thinking first. After a
short time, this kind of pattern of behavior stays with you, and who knows,
maybe you can go a long time, and not buy anything.
