Here in my state, we have robins, sparrows, cardinals,
wrens, black birds, woodpeckers, eagles, humming birds, morning doves, common
crows and so many more. Birds are warm-blooded vertebrates and they come in many
colors. What separates them from all other animals is that fact that they are
the only animal that has feathers. Their
body feathers are soft and downy, and keep them warm. The feathers on their wings help them fly,
and the feathers on their tail helps them to steer when they are in the air.
There are at least 10,000 species of birds in the world and they inhabit
ecosystems across the globe.
