It probably depends on how strictly you adhere to codes and rules.

For myself...when I was a child I was both good and bad.  As an adult, this hasn't changed.  We are made up of both light and dark aspects within our personalities, we should no more fear or avoid one than the other.

I try to follow a code of ethics, but I am not so rigid that I don't use my common sense.  If something threatens me or my family, or I think there is a little retribution deserved somewhere...
