Grandma needs an adjustable bed.... is there anything else out there that costs a little less than the Craftmatic beds but has all the features?

We got a sleep number bed for our grandfather and he loves
it. We got to try it at home for 30 days
to be sure that he could find the right setting, and he did find one
immediately. After a few weeks, he tried
another setting and he continues to make adjustments, just to lay in more ways
then one, when he goes to bed at night.
He is not bed-ridden. This was
the right solution for us, and we felt that since the sleep number bed
manufacturer was well established and had a good reputation, we could count on
this product. There are other types of
these beds, but I don’t know how reliable other brands would be. If you asked your physician, perhaps there is
a way that your grandmother's insurance could pay for some or all of the cost,
for a good brand of bed. Older people need to be comfortable, and they
can’t stay in one position too long without getting sore. It is easier to get the right bed, then to
risk getting those sores, which can be life threatening. Surf the net to see what is available and ask
her doctor for sources, and what or if anything can be done to cover some of the
costs. http://www.selectcomfort.com/air_mattress_beds/sleep_number_bed.cfm?mc=402000&cm_mmc. I also saw this review of adjustable beds and
thought that you could check with Consumer Reports to see what beds are the
best kinds to purchase. http://www.bedutopia.com/
