my girlfriend and i are both wiccan. i have recently asked her to marry me. she has agreed to do so. of course, we intend to have a handfasting ceremony. our problem is that we want to be sure that the handfasting be recognized by the state of texas as a "legal" marriage. we have looked into it as far as we can go. we understand about seperataion of church and state. also that the state of texas recognizes marriages as "legal" so long as they were officiated by an ordained minister. our question is this. is there anyone who is so ordained to officiate our handfasting so that the state of texas recognizes it as "legal?" if so, how do we go about contacting them?
