The hottest clothes today, spring 2008, are feminine dresses with lace, ruffles and sheer, shimmering, fabrics.  Skirts are very short.  Dresses are short or full length maxis to the floor.  They are also strapless or sleeveless and come in every color from HOT reds, to shiny silver-greens and grays.  Black and white is in and bold prints, or polka dots in all sizes, are everywhere.  Shoes are either stiletto-heels of at least 4 inches or platform shoes with thick soles.  Sandals are still popular but they have the gladiator look of many straps winding up the leg.  Tee shirts come in many styles from the classic crew neck and short sleeves to every style of halter and baby-doll top.  The purse is so strong now, and every kind of material is used to catch the eye.  Jackets are still short, ending above the hip in the “cropped” style.  Jeans are allowed to flare at the bottom but the waists are a little higher this year.
