Andrew Warhola who died on February 22, 1987 was affectionately known as Andy Warhol. He was born in America and became a well-known artist in the pop cultural art. Andy Warhol went to the Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he studied commercial art in the School of Fine Arts program.
He advanced in a successful career and was a very popular commercial illustrator. He was very famous as a painter, filmmaker, author and record producer. His paintings consists of American commercial products like Campbell's Soup Cans, Coca Cola bottles, and Celebrity paintings and these are what made him most famous. | | Poor Taste?

yes, in that his initial job was as an illustrator/graphic designer and that his eventual fine-art was commercially biased, produced to sell in quantities especially the "ready-mades", which by definition are commercial art but perhaps not quite as well defined as say, Jack Vetriano or Banksy as these both blatantly aim to appeal to a particular section of thye art buying public, decidedly "low-brow" unlike Warhol who aimed a little higher in that his work generally provoked discusion and debate, it attempted to ascend the polemic/secular aspects of our societal practices and activities, but yes Warhol was a commercial Artist as opposed to a Commercial artist.Jonathan Polkest | | Poor Taste?
