There are many groups that sponsor different types of family
renewal. For instance, in some faiths,
there are celebrations of the renewal of the spirit. In the Christian Faith, the season of Lent,
is the time when Christians celebrate that Christ died for our sins, and we
renew our faith in him, and in our religion.
Social Interaction work groups call their renewal movement, a family
time of facing conflicts, and tensions; and learning to interact as a family
unit, with respect for each other and in the institution of family life, and
living. In other renewal movements,
couples spend time working on their marriage, with counseling, to renew the love
that they brought to this union, when they first said their vows. These marriage encounter groups often spend weekends,
helping loving couples to reconnect through communication and mutual respect. All of the renewal movements that I have
heard or read about have a common factor.
They are all trying to improve the quality of life for people who are
willing to grow and change, to become peaceful and content, in an angry world.
