Since Foundation Day, for Japan, is about having a profound love for and
pride in your country, it would seem to me to be appropriate to wish for the
peace, prosperity and well being of your homeland and its people. On a larger scope and because we are all
connected in a global oneness in so many ways, today; I think it would be even more appropriate to
wish for an end to global warming and pollution. We must all address the problems of the
environment, and do something, right now, to ensure that there will continue to
be a place for our families, and the generations to come, to live, breathe and
sustain ourselves with water and food.
It seems that there is no more time to wish, or hope. Action, now by every one of us, is critical
to the survival of this planet. If we
think only of our nation, our people and our need, and use all up all of our
sustainable elements of life, then we are bringing our lives to an end, far
sooner, and more completely then we had ever imagined. Perhaps Foundation Day should celebrate our
resources as the foundation of life, and see that they are preserved, for the
sake of human existence.
