The flower child and flower power permeated the 60's after the war with Viet Nam broke out. The younger generation, who were attending college at that time, were opposed to the war. They worn long hair held in place by a head band. Everywhere, you could see peace symbols on T-shirts and car windows, and "make love not war" was the mind set. Bell bottom jeans with frayed places, suede vests with fringe, daisy smiley faces, all of these things were part of that time. Neon colors, white sun glasses, sandals and mini skirts, were everywhere. Guys and girls wore fatigue pants to mock the war, and granny glasses were a huge look. Some girls wore maxi dresses which had long skirts. Those skirts are in again today, along with the mini skirt. Also, in the 60's surfer looks were in, and the Beach Boys were the rock band. Adults were influenced by President Kenny and Jackie. She wore little sleeveless sheath dresses, and low heeled shoes; strapless gowns for evening wear with little satin coats. Men wore short conservative hair styles, nice suits with ties, and polo shirts with khaki pants for the weekends. It was a strange mix of icons and images.
