My definition might be different from many other people that try to post about what Progressive Religion is, or is supposed to be.   For me, it is a mind-set, wherein people of different faiths come together to get a better understanding of each others beliefs.   Why?  For purposes of educating ourselves and others, about what we know as religion, what it means in our daily lives, and how every man’s faith has common ground with other faiths and beliefs.   The only way to perpetuate tolerance, is to inform ourselves about those things which we have in common with others, and the differences that exist.  To believe in Progressive Religion is to believe that we all deserve a peaceful world, where civil rights are present for every one.   We want to appreciate the past and celebrate the future, by embracing changes to our religion that keep church and state separate, and yet reach out to every person, with understanding and kind treatment.   Progressive's question their own behavior in order to improve it;and feel that God wants us all to help the poor and the underprivileged, the starving, and the sick, with much more then random acts of kindness.   We must stop the cycle of violence that is present in every society and replace it with mercy, justice and education.
