It’s not easy to start over at any age. However, it can be done, and done very
well. The good things that we have going
for us when we are in our fifties, are called LIFE EXPERIENCES. This means that we learned a lot about living
along the way, to get to this midpoint in our lives. We know more about who we are, what we can do
well, and what we need to change. If you
are suddenly single and the kids are grown and on their own; there will be time
to concentrate on what to do with this new challenge. First, there is the fun of finding where you
want to live, or what you can afford, if you have to move, to start this
process. Then there is the budgeting to
find out how much it will cost to maintain a residence and pay your bills. After that, you subtract your incoming funds
and see what needs to be done to secure your future. If you don’t make enough at your job to cover
your expenses, you may have to re-train in your hours “off-the-clock”. If you don’t have a job, but need one, there
are employment agencies or Women’s Resource Centers, in your area, that can
help you figure out what you are suited for, and help you contact potential
employers. Personally, you are at a peak
in life, lots of good years are ahead as well as behind you. With the love and support of the good people
in your life, you will do well. Keep a
healthy and positive attitude and remember, anything and everything is possible
for you, right now.
