how dose candy affect your teeth
|
If you eat a lot of candy which has a high sugar content,
and you don’t brush your teeth every morning and evening, bacteria grows and
causes plaque, which in turn results in tooth decay. Even the sugar-free candies may contain
artificial types of sweeteners or they may contain honey, fructose, or molasses
and these ingredients too, can cause tooth decay. Americans consume about 20 teaspoons of some
kind of natural or synthetic sugars every day.
If we want to save our teeth and our children’s, we are going to have to
cut back on the consumption of candy. We are also going to have to make sure that we and our
children brush and floss our teeth regularly.
