Having observed celebrity weddings and the length and quality of the time that these people spend together, it seems as if they are doomed to fail, whether the people love each other or not.  Some of my contemporaries blame the media for stalking these people, and taking away their privacy on almost every level, which of course, is not healthy or conducive to a happy life.  It takes discipline for movie stars and others in whom the pubic has an interest; to resist discussing private life and private matters but it seems essential to me.    Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward have been together for maybe 40 or more years.   They are very private people, and they made it work.  Of course they were hounded by the media but not stalked which is what happens today.  Part of the blame has to fall on the couple.  If they travel for their work and are constantly away from each other, the union can fall apart.  Work is not easy to get, and soon the priority seems to be money and the career, and the love, without nurturing, ceases to exist.
