It’s interesting that you would like to have stories from
baby boomers, who are about to retire.
They almost outnumber every other group in society right now, and they
probably have a million stories to write.
If your purpose is to help them get their thoughts on paper, that is
truly wonderful. We have a local
newspaper that we circulate to the 694 members of our co-operative living
community, and everyone wants to write something profound for us, when we
publish, quarterly. Over the last five
years, while I have been involved, we have really had a plethora of work come
across our desks, on every subject, imaginable.
Some people write about overcoming adversity, while others write about
those who gave them the greatest inspiration in their lives. For me, reading all of these articles over a
long period of time, I have found that the truly moving and inspiring work
comes from those who have given care to their aging parents (who were from the “greatest
generation” and lived through WWII). I
hope that you get to be permanently moved by these stories of life as it comes
full circle for families, now that people live well into their nineties. It has made a better person of me, and I am
sure that you too, will be enriched by what you read.
