There are lots of sites online that suggest many ways to write poems.  They all have good ideas that will work well for you. I write poetry, and have for a long time, so I will make this simple suggestion.   Poetry is about sharing your feelings, and intelligence.  Write about what you know.  If you have a big family and a lot is going on, write about it.  Write about friendships and activities that you love to do.  Write about how music makes you feel.  Whatever you are interested in, your enthusiasm will come out, and don’t discount that others won’t want to read what you wrote.   The point is to get your feelings down on paper.  I keep a journal of interesting things that happen.  When I have the time, I read the journal and get inspiration for a poem.  Check out this site and see if their approach to writing will help you get started.  In a short time, you will know how to express yourself, and you will enjoy it, very much! http://www.poemofquotes.com/articles/ways-to-write-poetry.php
