My first dog’s name was Samantha Jane. She was the most beautiful, jet black cocker
spaniel in the world, as seen through the eyes of my family. We just called her Jane, because mom loved
that name for some reason. She said it
was from a book that she had read as a child, in Canada, and since Jane loved
mom best, and so did we ,that was the name we all chose. That amazing creature, and proud member in
good standing, of our family, lived for fourteen years. She was compassionate, funny, loving and she was,
for me, the best keeper of secrets, that ever lived. I told her everything, and she listened. Those big brown compassionate eyes would “care”
about whatever I was saying. We all
loved her and to this day, I miss our friendship and her unconditional love. Of course, she grew old and blind, and then
we lost her; but there never was a dog like JANE, for me, not since then, and
not now.
