There are some truly American Corporations that are publicly traded like Wal-Mart Stores, and McDonald's, Ford Motor, and General Motors, Target, Kroger and Citigroup, and so on.  However, the list grows smaller and smaller all the time, and I see your point.   It is extremely hard to tell who the strong leader is in the global market place, but it isn’t us is it?  Also, when you consider how much we depend on oil and how much of our best real estate is now owned by so many other countries; one would assume that we have lost our clout at home and on the world stage.
