Gaywool is the dye that people use to add color to raw or
spun wool. The directions say to use one
capful of Gaywool for every four ounces of wool. The wool must have been washed in detergent
first, so that all the greasiness is gone.
You put a small amount of dye in a container of hot water, boil water in
a large pot and place the dye and wool into the pot. 80 percent of the dying process is done
within the first 4 minutes so you have to keep turning the wool over and over
for a great result. This dye comes in
over30 beautiful colors and you can use it on silk, nylon, cashmere, fur and
mohair, as well as the raw wool that I mentioned.
