The story of Brenda Martin is making news and of course its a liberal mp dan mcteague standing up for someone who yes is not convicted of a crime in mexico but is in prison awaiting trial for some illegal investment scheme. First off for those of you that do not know Mexico, the area miss martin was visiting is not exactly your innocent tourist destination. Its a dump filled with corruption and crime. So if she is in fact innocent which may be the case, this is a very unfortunate situtation but i think most adults are smart enough to understand that if you are even associating in the circles of the bad guys you too could go down and lets face it Guadalajara is not Cancun and people generally do not visit for good reasons so what was Miss Martin doing there. Dan Mcteague should be the star and turn the liberal party around and be harder on crime. At least for a Liberal he has a support the troops banner on his website. Good for you Dan, not typical of Liberals to take a more positive stance on our military and their activities.

What about innocent until proven guilty? This person deserves to have honest
representation in court. She also
deserves to have her court case handled in a timely manner, so that she does
not have to sit for months, in those conditions, without the opportunity to
have a defense put in place that represents her in a fair and appropriate way.
This woman has been imprisoned for 14 months, is trying to get permission to
get sworn testimony from her former boss about her innocence. Her boss Alyn Waage was convicted of a huge
fraud scheme, but she insists that she was just doing her job, and is
innocent. Two women from different
church groups, one in Canada, one in America, have visited the prison where she
is being held. They say that she is
stick- thin and very fragile now. She has
not had good legal representation. Mr.
Waage, and two other men who were involved in the scheme, are willing to state
that she had nothing to do with this crime.
Shouldn’t she have a right to use this evidence in her own defense? The two women who met her, believe her, and
they are trying to do all that they can to help her get a fair day in court.
