The list of music genres is endless. Music is no longer broken down into a few categories
like Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, New Wave, Folk, Classical and Jazz. There is also Hip Hop, Reggae, Blues,
Electronic, Art Music, Country, Popular, New Age, New Beat, Nashville Sound and
Post-Industrial. These genres are broken
down into sub-genres like New Orleans Blues and New Orleans Jazz, New Romantic
and New School Hip HOP, American and Freak Folk and they in turn, are further classified
into two-step, four beat and two tone.
Other classes of music are broken down into cultural and regional. I also found out that what is classified one
way in the United States is differently classified in England. The best way to get a complete answer is to
get online and goggle it, I suppose.
However, whatever answer you might get, would only be current and
accurate for as long as it takes for enough experts to label some other new
form of sound, some other way.
