It’s a globalized world, and so the movie industry certainly has its share of great actors from everywhere.  This year, at the Oscars, the highest honors went to many more actors from England, Ireland, France, Italy, Austria and Spain. This has not happened since 1964, and some people think that Robert De Niro is the greatest actor in the world, but, this is a relative subject and it’s very hard to be objective about it.  Helen Mirren and Judi Dench are incredible actresses, and like most actors from the UK they are stage trained and learned their craft by studying Shakespeare.   Here at home, Meyrl Streep and Glenn Close are just as talented and well trained in the theater.  Leading men like Peter O’Toole and Sir Lawrence Olivier are brilliant but so are Robert DeNiro and Jack Nicholson.  It’ s just a matter of personal taste and we are all blessed to have so many talented performers to enjoy.
