www.CellPlanDepot.com is a meeting
place for people looking to get out of their cell phone contract "Plan
Droppers" and those looking to takeover a contract "Plan
Seekers". This service adds value to cell phone subscribers as it
satisfies their need to break a contract and avoid the steep early termination
fee. Those who takeover a plan will receive numerous incentives such as cash,
free cell phones, accessories, and avoid activations fees through the simple
transfer process. Those getting out of their plan avoid the early termination
fees and all of the future monthly payments for that contract. It is a win-win process as both Plan Seekers
and Plan Droppers save money through this innovative service.

This sound interesting. Sometimes, you can get into a cell phone contract and then a year down the road, you want to change cell phone provider, but then the contract binds you for a minimum of two years. This sucks. What happens is that if you try to get out of it, you have to pay over $200 for cancellation fees, I presume. Then you have to start another two year contract with another provider and play the game all over again. What a waste. It can also affect your credit if you walk away from a contract and not pay the cancellation fee. However, there are questions to consider if you are going to take over someone else's contract because the person's social security number is at risk and also their credit. How would that be handled. This probably would only work if you are taking over a contract of someone you personally know.

Answer: When the account is taken over it is called a "Transfer of Contract Responsibility"(TOR). As soon as the person taking over the cell phone contract passes the credit check the entire account is reset. No personal information is stored on file from the last contract holder. http://www.CellPlanDepot.com is a meeting place where consumers go to meet each other to work out a deal. Very convenient and needed service.
