There are a million reasons why he is calling less. Being deployed involves planning and requires a great deal of
preparation to insure that each soldier will have a working system in place for
him to be able to contact his family back home. Every aspect of deployment requires
great attention to the details. There
are wonderful web sites for families of soldiers who are being deployed, or who
are already deployed, as well as sites for soldiers loved ones to get support
and coping skills for while they are away.
My favorite is the one for families of sailors on submarines but there
are many others. These sites inform
people of all kinds of calling plans to make sure that you keep in touch from
miles away, as well as, explaining how to write on going letters (daily
journals etc) to keep the mail flowing to your soldier while he is far from
home. The coping skills involve eating
chocolate, staying busy and there are so many tips to help you both. Please check them out, and when in doubt,
keep reaching out for answers.
