My mate, Mr Twizzle, put answers / posts on to this forum (RingSurf Support) which have not appeared! Therefore post here to see if it does get in now!
Mr Twizzle said
The "clicks" have to go on the "hub" page, and subsequent "clicks" have to go onto the "hub" page AS WELL!
I will have to tell you, existing
members of our Ring are not going to be too pleased! The Webring.com
rings go to the "hub" one time, and the existing members of ours in the know
that, Click - Return - Click Again -- without looking at the adverts!
Other ring servers, and there are many of them now, are "one Click" - They go direct to the site.
I can forsee a situation that every site which has RingSurf Rings, only not versed into the peculiar way of new way dealing with Rings, would think the ring is abandoned, and withdraw the site code permanantly!
Whether they e-mail the ringmaster before doing so, is doubful! They think it is abandoned still....
Here are two points you have got surely wrong!
The banner that
you have got in the website takes the ringmaster for the ring, whether
it an actual ringmaster or one who is given up the ring! It should be
wiped from the windows - it occupies much of the window, especially if
you are using 800 wide screens like I am! (The banner disappears if you are
using anti-frames code like I am!)
Second, and most important,
it arrives at the same point in the ring, as far as I have been able to
see, the BEGINNING site in the ring! If you are going to the HUB of
the ring in all cases, (and I would beware of that,) you would have
data in all cases of what they intended to reach - Previous, Random,
Next - and could go to the site which is relevent! But you don't! I
selected the site which is first on the 3rd-page of the listing, when I
selected Next it selected the first in the listing - I THINK it will
have the property of making the ring restricted to the first two sites!
I
shall be pleased to see how you are going to get new rings going, but I
have no time at the present - I am developing the website for the canal
club I belong to!
Or I would develop a new ring, at a new user ID, to see whether the hate mail is correct! As I see it, the NEW site-code is different to the OLD site-code? Given the untruth to say "isn't going to upset other users!"
Half the sites didn't react to the e-mail sent to advertised e-mail
address in the site, and that differed sometimes from the e-mail
address given on there initial registration! I wonder IF they do wish to be contacted by e-mail or not....
Have you seen how the Forum appears on the old 640 wide screen? have a go by shrinking the width to 640!
Mr Twizzle, relayed by "clown-nein" the clown who cannot say Yes!
