. There are forehannd (dominant side) and backhand (non-dominant
side) strokes in badminton. Strokes used are clears, drives, smashes
and drop shots.
2. You use a V-grip to hold a racquet. The parts of the racquet are the grip, the shaft and head.
3. You should always have your feet and body in a ready position between each shot (ready to go from forehamd to backhand).
4. Serving Rules-
- a. you must serve diagonally
- b. you must contact the birdie below the wais with the racquet
- c. if you swing and miss, you can try again
- d. keep both feet on the ground when serving
- e. your side scores only when it is serving
- f. call out your sides score first when serving
- g. in doubles, both players get a chance to serve- when both fault, then the other team serves.
- h. if a point is scored while the serving. continue to serve- and switch serving courts with your partner
- i.always start serving from the right hand court
- j. a game is to15 points
5. Let means "do over" or "replay". A let is called if another player or bird interferes with your play.
6. Liners are good.
7. Players may not reach over the net to play a bird or may not touch the net with their body or racquet.
8. A bird can be hit only once on each side.
9. Faults are errors in serving or play.
