Spain is part of the European Union and they use Euros now and not pesos. Here is a link that will convert your currency into Euros, so that you know exactly how far your money will go.  This site also has been designed to assist you in NOT looking like a tourist when you visit Spain.  They have gotten a lot more cosmopolitan in the last two decades, but this is still a good strong religion- based country.  The people there do not like to see tourists in short and sleeveless tops.  They like well fitting clothes in quiet colors that are neat and clean.  They also appreciate it if you wear nice shoes, and have respect for their restaurants by wearing a bit dressier outfits to dinner.   They do not like to see skimpy tops and mini skirts on women and baggie clothes with bright shirts on men.  They do like denim, and slacks or nice dresses that compliment your appearance.  Also there is information on where to visit the nice boutiques and market places, and they are specific in letting you know that you must have a picture id with you at all times.  They recommend a passport, your driver’s license, and they encourage you to bring copies of this valuable personal information, so that if it gets lost, you have back up identification.
