The block appears to be (4) pieces connected together and the oil pan is resting on all pieces, oil leaks out from the end piece that is touching the transmission. Looking up from under the auto their is a rectangular shapped base of the block with the two end pieces secured to the longer sides thus forming the base. Now, the end plate that is at the transmission end has a 1/16"wide gap and the other end is snug without a gap. How is the block connected together to form the base at the oil pan? That joint appears to be the type used to form the block of the OLD VW Bugs, you know the two halfs bolted and torqued down that formed the engine block? All I need to know is how can I tighten the block so all joints are snug without any gaps? The Started is forward of the oil pan and oil is leaking from the started which tells me that the oil pan is not leaking.3800 engine
