Female dogs are usualy receptive between day 9 to 14 of their cycle though it is not unheard of for a bitch to be receptive as early as day 5 and late as into day 20 or more! There is no time for the female to be on heat for before she is mated as if she is not receptive she will most likely try to bite the face of the male dog! I am hoping giving you this simple advice that you will not-i repeat NOT breed your dog for the simple reason that you wish to make some money out of your bitch or that you want a puppy from her that is "just like her" as that will never happen my friend as the offspring only will take 50% of genetics from your bitch and 50% of the sire. then you are also left with the problem that you have your puppy and now you have as many as 8 or 9 other puppies that will just add just the increasing amount of unwanted dogs.Also, has your bitch(and the sire) been health checked? i.e hip scores, eye tests, or other relevant health screenings for your dogs breed-assuming it is a purebred you own? Also my friend do not confuse "purebred" with ~"pedigree" or "quality", your dog is only a quality pedigree if it is from a reputable breeder, who health checks all of their stock and breeds for the benifit of the breed.I hope this helps you in your questions, and also aids you in your quest to breed if it is actualy the "right" choice or not really.?
