what can be done about enangered jaguars
|
The Jaguar and all eight of its subspecies are
endangered. They can be found in the
Amazon, South America, well not all of the species. Some of the subspecies are now only alive in
zoos, not in the wild. They can also be
found in the South West United States, mostly in Arizona and New Mexico. There are at least two good reasons that the
Jaguars are endangered: over-hunting for
their beautiful fur, and loss of habitat due to forests being stripped of there
trees. The Arizona and New Mexico
Departments of Game and Fishing are trying to use the Endangered Species Act, to
reinforce huge fines against those who illegally hunt Jaguars. Animal RightsGroups are seeking permission to capture and breed a few of each species to protect their existence. The government’s border fence is creating a
hardship for these animals. Protection
groups are asking if the government will do anything to save them. The government says that what happens to the
Jaguar is Mexico’s problem. People will
not stand for these animals to be forced into extinction. Thank you for caring.
