I agree with the concept of the UN, it is needed. However, I disagree with the way it is operated - it seems like there is so much beuracracy at every level that it is inefficient in getting things accomplished. I say this now that I am pissed seeing the situation in Niger deteriorating to what it is, when the UN could have made a stronger appeal for aid earlier on. Now taht country is gripped in a famine that has lasted since the beginning of the year. At least I should be glad that there isn't a genocide along with the famine, because we all know how effective the UN in preventing genocides in Africa. Someone please tell me why the UN is so useless!
